National Youth Dance Festival July 2008 and South West Regional Selection event March 2008   Opportunities for young creative individuals, choreographers and entrepreneurs   Deadline for applications: 30 November 2007   Applications are now open for the National Youth Dance Festival 2008.   The festival will be held in London in July 2008 as part of Big Dance and is set to be the biggest NYDF to date. As well as performance opportunities there will be many activities for the hundreds of young people taking part.   A regional selection event for the South West will take place on 29 - 30 March in Plymouth, hosted by Dance in Devon (www.danceindevon.org.uk)   This regional event will include performances, workshops, discussion, development and fun for all the young people involved and their dance leaders. THREE youth dance groups will be chosen to represent the South West for the national event in July in London. How to apply Application forms and information are attached. You will need to provide a 2 copies on DVD/VHS of the work you wish to perform, or the work in progress. Group leaders should apply directly to Youth Dance England by 4pm on 30 November 2007 Pieces for performance should be 1-10 minutes long Applications from groups practicing any dance form are welcome School-based youth dance groups are usually only eligible to apply if they are open to and include young people from other schools. Age range 11-19 yrs In 2008 priority will be given to groups that consist of a maximum of 20 young people.
