Flourish – showcasing artworks by looked-after children and young people
Flourish is looking for submissions for a brand new exhibition to be held in Liverpool in October 2008. This will be the third annual exhibition of artwork by looked-after children and young people from around the country. Artists showing work in the past have encountered a broad range of care, having experienced adoption, secure accommodation, fostering, care for special needs or being looked after by a family member other than their parents.
Flourish provides opportunities for artists to share their practices with the public and each other, with an emphasis on
expressing what matters to them most. There are chances for them to speak to visitors about their artwork, receiving
valuable feedback and encouragement. It is not a competition, but a campaign to promote the talent of these artists.
